Every great performance begins long before the first note is played. It begins with an understanding of the language of music itself. At the Western Classical Music Institute (WCMI), we believe that for a child to truly master an instrument, they must first master the art of listening, the science of rhythm, and the logic of theory.
Designed exclusively for children aged 4 to 10, this one-year Sunday course is the missing link in modern music education. While private lessons teach the how, our Musicianship Program teaches the why.
Through a blend of interactive rhythm workshops, sight-reading games, and aural training, we transform students from "players" into "musicians."
At Western Classical Music Institute, we know that becoming a true musician requires more than just finger dexterity. It requires an understanding of the "Architecture of Sound." Our new one-year Sunday course is designed to run in conjunction with instrument training, building a comprehensive musical foundation.
At WCMI, Sundays are for more than just learning-they are for experiencing the magic of music. Once a month, we dim the lights, roll down the screen, and transform our Recital Hall into a private cinema for our Junior Musicians.
THE MINI-MAESTRO " PAST-SHOW
Every movie night is followed by a fun, 10-minute guided discussion. We talk about the instruments we heard the "mood" of the music, and how the composer used rhythm to tell a story.

Absolutely. This course is designed to be the very first step. It is perfect for children who have never touched an instrument, as well as those who are already taking lessons but need a stronger foundation in rhythm and theory.
Private lessons often focus on finger technique and repertoire.
This group program focuses on musical literacy. Students who understand theory and rhythm learn their instrument pieces 3x faster because they aren't "guessing" the notes.
We understand that families travel. While we don't offer individual makeup sessions for group classes, we provide a "Weekly Recap Sheet" so your child can stay on track with the rest of the batch.
WCMI provides all the learning materials,
percussion instruments, and workbooks used
during the Sunday sessions. Your child only needs to bring a curious mind!
